Audi 8V.2 RS3 / 8S TTRS Driveshaft

After almost of two years of effort and countless challenges we are proud to announce that we have partnered with one of the largest and oldest driveshaft manufacturers in the country. These drive shafts are manufactured and assembled in the USA.

Our goal was to address the shortcomings of the factory driveshaft with the three main issues being:

  1. Driveshafts breaking on removal and/or reinstallation

  2. The weak front stub that often breaks on launch with hybrid / full frame turbo cars.

  3. Guibo bolts breaking

Key features include:

  • Engineered and designed for strength and durability using ALL NEW PARTS to address the issues above

    1. Center slip yokes with 1310 u-joints for strength and easy removal and reinstallation

    2. New front yoke addresses the common failure of the front stub/CV joint

    3. New guibo bolts (ARP 8740 or equivalent)

  • Forged steel yokes

  • Spicer solid 1310 U-Joints (or equivalent)

    • Rated at 800+ lb/ft of intermittent torque

  • 2” front/2.5” rear chromoly tubing standard

    • Hybrid/composite driveshaft in development

  • JXB Center support with oversized high speed center bearing

  • For full frame applications we recommend using the optional IROZ guibo reinforcement kit which can be found here.

  • Replacing the stock driveshaft will move the weak point of the driveline to other components such as the bevel box, differential, and axles.

    • Using the stock flex disc will retain a margin of safety but it is not a guarantee that components in the driveline may break .

  • All Driveshafts balanced to over 5000 RPM

Fitment Notes:

  • If using aftermarket haldex clutches tuning of the haldex controller to account for the changed engagement/release characteristics is strongly recommended.

  • The maximum torque rating of a 1310 u-joint is 1,600 lb-ft . It is the tuners responsibility to make sure this number is not exceeded. This is especially important in first and second gear.

  • Fitment on the following downpipes has been verified but It may be necessary to adjust the angle of the downpipe. To do so loosen the v band clamp attaching the downpipe to the turbocharger exhaust housing and reposition the downpipe up and away from the driveshaft. On rare occasion 3.5” and larger downpipes may require slight modification where they cross over the driveshaft. Putting a small dimple in the downpipe in this area has addressed the issue.

    • Stock

    • Unitronic catted downpipe

    • CTS Stock Turbo

    • IROZ 3” and 3.5”

    • RPC 3.5”

    • JDY NextGen turbo kit

  • If you are using a down pipe other than those called out above or a non stock exhaust, prior to ordering, verify that you have sufficient clearance.

  • A fully captive style dog bone mount such as the ECE or Unitronic dog bone is required to control engine motion.

    • For those that currently have any of the above mentioned dog bone mounts the poly insert should be inspected to make sure it is in tact, not cut or damaged . Any damaged or suspect inserts need to be replaced prior to driveshaft installation.

    • For high horsepower applications (over 750whp) race versions of the above mentioned dog bone mounts is required.

  • Modification of the factory bevel box heat shield is required to clear the new front yoke..

    • The area that is being trimmed back is designed to protect the factory front CV joint/rubber seals and is no longer required..

  • Depending on subframe shift it may be necessary to modify the heat shield going over the steering rack or slightly reposition the subframe.

Delivery and lead time details

  • We try to do our best to support the Audi community but due to high demand and recent part shortages we are experiencing extended and flucuating lead times. Please contact us if you are in urgent need of a driveshaft for an upcoming event.

    • Lead times may vary and are typically 2-3 weeks.

  • In limited instances and with prior approval we can expedite an order.

    • Once approved, expedited orders will have a 1-2 week lead time after receipt of the customer supplied guibo. If there are delays you will be notified as soon as possible.

    • All expedited orders must be paid in full and are subject to a $300 expedite fee.

  • Cancelled orders subject to a 25% processing fee
